<\/span>Podture\u0148 \u2013 Borov\u00e1 Siho\u0165 \u2013 Liptovsk\u00e1 Por\u00fabka \u2013 Kr\u00e1\u013eova Lehota \u2013 Svar\u00edn \u2013 \u010cierny V\u00e1h \u2013 Ma\u0161a \u2013 Hr\u00e1dock\u00fd hrad (Castle) \u2013 Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok<\/strong><\/p>\n

The surroundings of the town of Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok are beautiful. <\/span>Start<\/strong> your journey <\/span>in the picturesque village of Podture\u0148<\/strong>, which is located in the arms of the mighty guardians, the Western and Low Tatras, on the road between the towns of Liptovsk\u00fd Mikul\u00e1\u0161 and Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok. There are many cycling trails used by all age groups. The route will lead you behind the village and along the river V\u00e1h towards the holiday resort of <\/span>Borov\u00e1 Siho\u0165. <\/strong>The area is especially <\/span>visited for rafting tours on the rivers V\u00e1h<\/strong> <\/span>and Bel\u00e1.<\/strong> Tents and caravans, the smell of roast sausage, groups of tourists, guitars, and tramp songs – all this creates a breathtaking and unique holiday atmosphere. Along the both banks of the river V\u00e1h, there are easy paths offering resting walks. One of these paths leads along the spring, where a cache is hidden. Stock up with beneficial water from the spring called \u201c<\/span>kyselka<\/strong>\u201d to have enough energy for your next trip.<\/p>\n

Along the border buffer zone of NAPANT (Low Tatras National Park) <\/span>go to the village of Liptovsk\u00e1 Por\u00fabka.<\/strong> The village lies in the protected area of the southeastern part of the region Liptov under the Low Tatras near the town of Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok. A large part of the land area is located in NAPANT. The most valuable parts of the land area are involved in small protected areas: <\/span>National Nature Reserve \u201cOhni\u0161te\u201d and Natural Landmark \u201cMa\u0161iansky balvan\u201d (boulder).<\/strong> From Liptovsk\u00e1 Por\u00fabka, <\/span>head to the village of Kr\u00e1\u013eov\u00e1 Lehota <\/strong>(translated as \u201cKing\u00b4s Time Limit). The village was established in the late 13th<\/sup> and early 14th<\/sup> century by royal servants, who had to guard the forests and hunting grounds. They were given tax relief by the king \u2013 King\u00b4s time limit<\/strong>, until they built the settlement. There were very good gradient conditions for using water energy to drive machines in the village. Mills, sawmills, bark processing plants, pressing plants, metal processing plants. The village of Svar\u00edn, which arose as a forest settlement, will be a great attraction for curious fellows and explorers.<\/p>\n

The settlement of \u010cierny V\u00e1h was the place through which a forest railroad was running and had there its station. <\/span>A path leading to water reservoirs \u010cierny V\u00e1h<\/strong>, either upper or lower, which are a part of the village of \u010cierny V\u00e1h, is a very nice bike trail.\u00a0 The significant forest settlement became known mainly for the construction of the pumped storage hydroelectricity \u010cierny V\u00e1h, <\/span>the largest hydroelectric power plant in Slovakia.<\/strong> By the end of the last century, wood from the large complex of forests along the river \u010cierny V\u00e1h<\/a> and its tributaries had been floating down the river. You can see the remains of dams on the upper courses of almost all the rivers. There is a nice romantic place in the settlement \u2013 Forest Cemetery<\/strong>. The past of \u010cierny V\u00e1h is admirably reflected in its listed architecture. On a rock, which dominates the settlement, there is a chapel, and a bell tower surrounded by tombstones – a place of piety and memories that date back to the early 19th<\/sup> century. The chapel and the bell tower are surrounded by an ancient cemetery, where forest workers of the Hr\u00e1dok\u00b4s Chamber Estate and their families were buried. The oldest grave is dated back to 1812. Ordinary people whose lives were tied to trees and prominent personalities of Slovak forestry from the distant and recent past are buried there. When you leave \u010cierny V\u00e1h, go back to Svar\u00edn<\/strong>, <\/span>Kr\u00e1\u013eov\u00e1 Lehota.<\/strong> Pass to the right side of the river V\u00e1h and go through the village of <\/span>Hlbok\u00e9<\/strong>. <\/span>You\u00b4ll come to the village of Ma\u0161a<\/strong>, where you will find a very attractive <\/span>exposition <\/strong>devoted to mining and metallurgy Ma\u0161a Liptovsk\u00e1 Hr\u00e1dok, gold mining in Magurka, Kriv\u00e1\u0148 and the Bocianska Valley, the Low Tatras deposits of iron and its utilization, as well as accumulation of antimony mineralization in the D\u00fabravsk\u00e1 and K\u013ea\u010dianska Valley, and Liptov\u00b4s ore sites and mills in the 18th<\/sup> and 19th<\/sup> centuries. The exhibition is located in a former prison and knocker, which were a part of an iron mill from the late 18th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

<\/span>The town of Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok is a target point<\/strong> where you can visit many remarkable places. <\/span>Castle Hr\u00e1dok<\/strong> by its topographical location belongs to the region of Upper Liptov and is an integral part of its earlier history. The first settlement was established in the vicinity of the Castle Hr\u00e1dok. It composed of families and forestry officials. In 1728 a <\/span>salt warehouse<\/strong> <\/span>Mrovn\u00edk<\/strong> was built in the town where salt from salt springs were stored. Establishment of the town of Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok was closely related to the development of Hr\u00e1dok\u00b4s Estate as soon as it was repurchased by the Royal Chamber in 1731. The street, stretching from the castle towards south, became the key part of the village. A Linden alley, which is also typical for this street, as well as for the whole town of Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok, was planted in 1777. The alley continued along the river V\u00e1h to another former settlement of Prek\u00e1\u017eka and already mentioned salt warehouse. Merging both settlements, a town of Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok was created. Buildings for the Forestry Office and Prefecture were established in Liptovsk\u00fd Hr\u00e1dok. In the 80’s and in the 90\u00b4s, a Roman – Catholic Church was built in the style of Louis XVI. \u00a0Development of the city was mainly supported by forestry and technical buildings such as saws, rakes, water tanks, warehouses, raft sites, that began to be build in the late 18th<\/sup> century; especially the first steam sawmill, coming from the first half of the 19th<\/sup> century. Near the town a Gothic castle from the 14th<\/sup> century is located \u2013 Hr\u00e1dok\u00b4s Castle<\/a>. (New Castle, Hr\u00e1dok, etc.) Today, you will find here ruins because the castle burned out in 1809. It is possible to see the castle from outside. <\/strong>There is a restaurant at the entrance gateway and later a courtyard will be open, too. <\/span>Following the road No 18, your route ends again in the village of Podture\u0148.<\/strong><\/p>\n
