Liptov is the “Mecca” of Slovak downhill skiing. Nevertheless, <\/span>more than 70 km of cross-country trails<\/strong>, under optimal snow conditions, are available under the Liptov hills. The locals have created a guide to these cross-country trails, which maps the 20 most interesting locations suitable for cross-country skiers. The individual routes are taken care of and modified by their municipalities or local cross-country ski clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross-country skiing in Liptov<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Capable cross-country skiers, but also families with children, will enjoy themselves. All you have to do is <\/span>choose a route suitable for your abilities in terms of length and elevation<\/strong>. The longest route is on the northern side of <\/span>Liptovsk\u00fd Mikul\u00e1\u0161<\/strong> with a length of 10.7 km in the locality <\/span>H\u00e1j – village Smre\u010dany – Dolinky – village \u017diar,<\/strong> with an ascent of 168 m and a descent of 192 m. Intermediate cross-country skiers can try the almost five-kilometer-long route near <\/span>Ru\u017eomberok<\/strong>, which connects the<\/span> Hrabovsk\u00e1 and \u010cutkovsk\u00e1 valleys<\/strong>. The <\/span>Hrabovo – Vlkol\u00ednske l\u00faky <\/strong>route reaches the highest elevation. <\/span>Children could enjoy the easy route in the Malin\u00f4 Brdo locality, which does not have a single kilometre and a minimum elevation gain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cross-country skiing in the fresh air in the wild is an ideal sport for Liptov. In the region there are snowy meadows, forests and also 70 km of groomed cross-country tracks. The condition of their tracks depends almost exclusively on natural snow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross-country skiing in the fresh air in the wild is an ideal sport for Liptov. In the region there are snowy meadows, forests
and also 70 km of groomed cross-country tracks. The condition of their tracks depends almost exclusively on natural
snow. All routes are accessible for free, but you can make a voluntary contribution. The tracks in Jasn\u00e1 and \u010certovica
have the best guarantee of snow, because they are located at a higher altitude. However, they have a more demanding
profile and beginners will have to walk some sections, especially in case of harder snow. For beginners and families
with children, tracks on flat meadows are more suitable – for example, Dem\u00e4nov\u00e1, Liptovsk\u00e1 Kokava, Liptovsk\u00e1 \u0160tiavnica
or near the Dolinky ski resort in \u017diar, where cross-country skis can also be rented. The tracks in Z\u00e1va\u017en\u00e1 Poruba, which
were designed directly for the purpose of the race, have a more demanding profile. In each of the locations, however,
