Route description<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Although the Ve\u013ek\u00e1 Fatra is not one of our\nhighest mountains and does not boast such a brilliant relief as the Tatras, it\nhas its charm for ski mountaineers. The ridge of Ve\u013ek\u00e1 Fatra offers views of\nthe Tatras, Fatra, and lower hills in the southern half of Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peak Plosk\u00e1 is a hill typical for Ve\u013ek\u00e1 Fatra.\nIts slopes are grassy, \u200b\u200bwithout trees. They are mild, but offer interesting\nskiing in sparse woods or on wide plains. Plosk\u00e1 is one of the highest peaks in\nVe\u013ek\u00e1 Fatra. Ski mountaineering skins are sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The ridge\nusually tends to be wind-blown. On the Tur\u010diansk\u00e1 side, beware of dangerous\navalanche slopes. As very steep slopes and exposed, rocky gutters are absent in\nthis area, the hike is also suitable for weaker skiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Way up<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From the car right on the tracks. A big\ndisadvantage may be the fact that the ascent starts low – only 705 masl, so\nthere is not much snow – especially in light winters, or at the beginning or\nend of the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole ascent has a relatively even slope and\na decent elevation of 840 meters. The slope is, paradoxically, given the\nsmallest name at the very top. The name Plosk\u00e1 perfectly describes its shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top is a large platform and has enough space\nto change the skins and prepare for the descent. The hike can be extended, for\nexample, to the Tur\u010dianska side by following the red trail marking at Chata pod\nBori\u0161ovom (Hut Chata pod Bori\u0161ovom) or by a ridge on both sides – for example\nto Ostredok and Kr\u00ed\u017ena, or Rakytov peaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
