<\/span>Best time for the trip:<\/strong> all season with enough snow<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/span>Equipment:<\/strong> depends on the conditions, ski crampons are recommended, crampons – in case of icy conditions, avalanche equipment is necessary<\/p>\n\n\n\n Pla\u010dliv\u00e9, also called Pla\u010dliv\u00fd Roh\u00e1\u010d, is a significant peak in the main ridge of the Western Tatras. It is a distinctive pyramid that can be seen from afar. Together with Ostr\u00fd Roh\u00e1\u010d peak, they form an iconic panorama, thanks to which this part of the Western Tatras is also called Roh\u00e1\u010de. It attracts with good accessibility from \u017diarsk\u00e9 sedlo and an excellent view. The whole route is located in free alpine terrain, thus it is not suitable for beginner ski mountaineers. Although the route is not one of the most endangered by avalanches, it is nevertheless necessary to follow the knowledge of avalanche issues and carry mandatory avalanche equipment all the time. The whole way up can be completed, during almost the entire season, on ski mountaineering skins. Ski mountaineering crampons are only needed exceptionally, under very adverse conditions (eg icy snow surface).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The route starts at the mouth of \u017diarska valley (\u017diarsk\u00e1 dolina), right at the parking lot. The valley has an elevation of about 400 meters in 5 kilometres distance, It is sometimes ridden by a snowmobile, or has a ski track already made by other ski tourers.The route passes smoothly around \u017diarsk\u00e1 chata, which is an ideal stop for refreshments before the ascents gets more demanding (and steeper). <\/p>\n\n\n Above the cottage there is free open terrain,\ninitially slight with a slope of up to 30\u00b0. The ascent route copies the summer\nmarked trail and alternates steeper sections with milder ones. Initially, the\nroute leads through the forest and knee timber trees, which gradually thin.\nWith ascending height meters, the views of the whole valley and especially of\nBaranec, the highest peak in the whole valley, open up. As if within reach is\nthe goal of the ascent – the top of Pla\u010dliv\u00f4. The way up continues around the\ncrossroads below Hom\u00f4\u013eka. On the left, the summer path leads to Smutn\u00e9 sedlo\n(Smutn\u00e9 Saddle), on the right, the route continues to \u017diarsk\u00e9 sedlo (\u017diarske\nSaddle).<\/p>\n\n\n\n One more steep climb and there is \u017diarske sedlo\nwith a pleasant platform to rest before the last section leading to the top. The\nSaddle is 208 meters high from the top and about half an hour of steep hikes.\nDuring icy conditions, it is necessary to use ski crampons, or crampons and climbing axe. At the very top there is a\ncompact view of the southern and northern side of the Western Tatras, with\nLiptov, Orava and Kriv\u00e1\u0148 peak. <\/p>\n\n\n\nRoute description<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
