Route description<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the route is \u010eumbier, the highest peak of the Low Tatras. The trip can be extended by a visit to the M. R. \u0160tef\u00e1nik Hut<\/a> (Chata M. R. \u0160tef\u00e1nika) in Sedlo pod \u010eumbierom, which is located 400 meters lower, but then  the way back would require to follow the same part of the trail with 400 meters of elevation gain. The descent can be skied in free terrain from Kr\u00fapova ho\u013ea, less experienced skiers are advised to continue along the ridge to the nearby Chopok and  continue down the ski resort slopes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Way up<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The starting point is the parking lot in L\u00fa\u010dky. The first part of the ascent leads along the \u201cTuristick\u00e1\u201d ski slope, which is one of the least steep in the Jasn\u00e1 resort. The ascent route leads along it for about 2.5 km and 400 altitude meters. Later, it continues into the red marked trail at the lower station of the lift to Pekn\u00e1 vyhliadka. The route turns to the left into the forest and continues along the hiking trail slightly down the hill and then through the traverse towards the mouth of the \u0160irok\u00e1 valley. This part of the route is mostly located in the forest and the first views appear at the mouth of the \u0160irok\u00e1 valley.<\/p>\n\n\n

\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ascent continues up in \u0160irok\u00e1 dolina and copies the\nsummer green marked tourist trail to Kr\u00fapova ho\u013ea. The slope of the ascent\ngradually increases. However, a slightly gentler ascent can be completed in the\nleft part towards the Kr\u00e1\u013eov st\u00f4l and then along the ridge to Kr\u00fapova ho\u013ea. The\nroute continues to the main ridge of the Low Tatras and the red marked tourist\ntrail. It is already close to peak \u010eumbier – about a kilometer, with an ascent\nof about 120 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A concrete pylon with a a large double door cross has been\nbuilt on the top of \u010eumbier. The peak also offers an extensive circular view of\nvirtually all the mountains of central and northern Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n

Way down<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Directly from the top, return about a kilometer along the\nridge and enjoy a descent from Kr\u00fapova ho\u013ea, where the northwestern slope\noffers good skiing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less experienced skiers can continue along the ridge to\nChopok and complete the descent on ski slopes. In case of lack of snow or in\nthe spring, it is possible that ridge will miss snow and the skies would need\nto be carried in hands. <\/p>\n\n\n

Educational trail Dem\u00e4novsk\u00e1 dolina<\/em> <\/a>– On the route Jasn\u00e1 – Tri vody – Lukov\u00e1 – \u0160irok\u00e1 dolina – L\u00fa\u010dky there are 9 information boards and benches for a pleasant rest. Natural and artistic elements along the route explain more about the dragon, which allegedly lived in the surrounding caves.<\/p>\n

National Nature Reservation \u010eumbier<\/em> – spreads over the top of \u010eumbier in the main ridge and on the northern slope at the end of the valleys. The protection is focused on the alpine landscape of rocky hills and gutters, knee timber stages and mountain coniferous forests with diverse fauna, flora and unique species.<\/p>\n
