Sidorovo (1099 m a. s. l.) is a striking peak, located above the village of Vlkolínec, near the top station of Hrabovo cable car. It offers great views of Low Tatras and High Tatras and the Great Fatra. Numerous cliffs are very suitable for trips with children, who will be pleased to visit a mini-zoo located directly on the meadows below Mt Sidorovo. We recommend a visit especially in autumn when weather is constant and you can enjoy nice autumn leaves colours.
You can start the hike at the Ružomberok Calvary and continue along the blue trail with a mild elevation up to Vlkolínske Lúky (Vlkolínec Meadows). The second option is to take a cable car from Hrabovo, near Hotel Hrabovo. From the top station of the cable car to Vlkolínske Lúky you will go along the red trail. If you have time, we recommend that you take a short detour to Haliny – a cliff view point on the left side. The turn is marked directly after getting out of the cable car. You can have a snack on your way in hotel Malina. Fathers and teenagers can “stop” at Bike park Malinô Brdo. If taking a few-minute walk along the yellow trail from the crossroad Vlkolínske Lúky, you can visit a mini-zoo with a playground. If undertaking approximately one hour elevation along the red trail from the crossroad Vlkolínske Lúky you´ll reach the peak of Sidorovo. We can either go back along the trails described above, or continue along the red trail towards the Ružomberok Calvary. The trail runs through a nice pine forest and in the last section above the Calvary you can enjoy a wonderful view of the panorama of Ružomberok town, the Choč´s Mountains and the Westernern Tatras.
Free parking is possible under the valley station of the cable car from Hrabovo.
Several accommodation and catering facilities are located at the valley station of the cable car in Hrabovo. It is also possible to have a stay or refresh yourself at Malina Hotel below the cable car’s top station.
