“Poľovnícka chata pod Kozím” or Hunting Lodge Under Kozí is the original Černov name for this hunting shelter, which was built by Černov and Ružomberok hunters in the 1960s.
The building is in an interesting location, situated under the main ridge of the Veľká Fatra range. It is just a one hour hike from the “Sedlo pod Vtáčnikom” intersection of the Veľká Fatra highway. This predestines the use of the building also as a year-round tourist dormitory.
The comprehensive reconstruction and subsequent operation of the Kozô tourist shelter will offer Ružomberok residents and others another interesting tip for a relatively easy family trip. Since the valley is closed to motor vehicles over about 5 km of its length, the newly reconstructed building fulfils the role of an interesting destination, offering seasonal refreshments.
As regards tourist activities, this has added another interesting starting point for crossing the Veľká Fatraridge. This will be appreciated not only by tourists in summer, but also by winter sports enthusiasts (cross-country skiing, alpine skiing…).
